Heritage album

This heritage album I made for a present for my hubby's grand father who turned 92 last week.He lost his wife of 65 years this May so I thought it would be nice to get some of the pictures out of dusty boxes and make him an album about him and his wife. That way he would have her close to him all the time.
But I must say I was not alone in doing it. I have my hubby to help me with glueing, distressing.

Ta album sem naredila za 92 rojstni dan staremu očetu mojega partnerja. Letos maja mu je umrla žena s katero je bil poročen 65 let. Prava priložnost, da se vsaj nekaj slik iz starih zaprašenih škatel uredi v album. Album je narejen tako, da predstavlja njuno življenjsko pot. Vsakokrat, ko se bo želel spomniti na svojo ženo in minula leta, bo imel te spomine vedno na dosego rok.
Ampak moram z veseljem povedati, da pri izdelavi tega albuma nisem bila sama. Boštjan je tako lepo pomagal z lepljenjem in senčenjem distress blazinic. Znajo biti moški res prav koristni. Uporabite jih pri zamudnih opravilih kot sta lepljenje in senčenje.

SUITCASE FULL OF MEMORIES

Hot summer days are almost over and I am already starting crafting Christmas decorations. I created this suitcase with mini album for my Christmas memories.


Poletje in z njim vroči dnevi se končuje in prihaja čas, ko se počasi začenjamo pripravljati na božič. Res, da je šele september, ampak kot bi trenil bosta zima in božič tukaj. Kovček in mini album, ki sem naredila bosta za hrambo božičnih spominov.

LIFE'S JOURNEY

Sometimes we complaine about our lives. We are never satisfied with it. If we don't have everything we want, if we don't go places we want..... Do we ever think about our grand parents' lives... About their lives and times..

Today's post is dedicated to a man who is 92 years old that's been through second world war. He was kept as a prisoner in Germany for 4 years during the war , didn't see his home for 6 years. He is old school gentleman. Addresses everybody with yes sir, very polite and respectful, he shaves every morning at 4 AM and dresses nicely every day. His mind is very sharp and would remember all songs he learned as a school boy. He would always say : I dont remember what I had for lunch yesteray but I sure remember everything what happpened 70 years ago. Sometimes he reminds me of Paul Newman.
Three months ago he lost his beloved wife of 65 years and was there by her side till they took her away from him.
I hope he will stay in our family for a very very long time.
